All the big punters were out in force yesterday with an extended Flash
session that was part of the Diwali celebrations in the office. Spring rolls, fried chicken and a free flow of booze helped. There was a lot of yelling (mostly Parul), Roshan danced and Nusrat kept begging Bhushan for a hug. Everybody got Canon Digital Cameras as Diwali gifts. Pretty decent ones too. Ironically, with 20 odd cameras in the office, these blurry iPhone pictures are all we have for the blog. But they capture the general mood nevertheless.
Pretty good turn-out. No casualties. Highlights as follows. Momo ran 11 because she couldn't find the exit. Mohit did 14 for similar reasons. Most ran-walked about 7.5 kilometres. And Shuchi punched a perv and threw him in a ditch. Breakfast of idlies and lamb curry at Prasad's followed.

This Sunday's Human Race has been the subject of much discussion.
There's a sticker campaign.
And a paper-thing designed in an unending loop which everybody agrees is clever but doesn't know what to do with. The whole office is participating. Friends and family included. The venue is the exotic Jahanpanah Forest. Just out of curiosity, I googled 'Jahanpanah forest'
Our friends in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi sent us a love letter a fortnight ago. In it, they informed us that our time at 20 SiriFort was at end because they’d chosen to turn the area completely residential. We had 48 hours to comply and take our shady act elsewhere. To our credit, we got out in 12.
After a week spent in temporary digs at Gurgaon, some massive Chinese lunches and ordering a lot of shitty takeaway food, we relocated to our present office:

It’s a football field size studio space with some glass walls, a trillion air conditioners and a phone booth. We’d like to think that we’ve made something of it.
9 a.m. Prayer Ceremony
7 p.m. We had another kind of ceremony.

Helvetica is a feature-length independent film about
typography, graphic design and global visual culture. It looks at the
proliferation of one typeface (which is celebrating its 50th birthday
this year) as part of a larger conversation about the way type affects
our lives. Helvetica is currently screening at film festivals, museums, design conferences, and cinemas worldwide, and is coming soon to the W+K screening room. Hanif Kureshi, resident type-geek and Helvetica fetishist has designed a poster (although it would have been a lot easier just to yell across the room to inform the four and a half people that comprise our office) and shared it with us. Let it be known that the writer is aware that the word 'which' in the headline is superfluous but Hanif refuses to delete it because it upsets his poncy design.
